Week 1

Week 1 Recap:

It was a great day of competition in week one of the AFG summer 2008 league. Some new teams in the league have raised eyebrows; while some known teams continue to shine year in and year out. Three teams went undefeated in week one and are looking to establish themselves as AFG power houses right from jump street. First and foremost is defending AFG flag football champions “The State” who beat two great AFG teams in Wreck N Crew, in a rematch in last season’s championship. Unfortunately for Wreck N Crew it was a different game but same result. The States second victim was the talented squad of Lights Out. This game went to the wire, and was pulled off in the final seconds by The State, who won by one point, great Job to both teams.  

The second undefeated team is the incredibly talented team “The Movement”. I had the pleasure of watching these guys play from the sideline, and all I can say is Wow. Probably the fastest all around team in the AFG, these guys are some incredible athletes. “The Movement” is also the raining and two time champions of the 4 man league in Livermore. Great Job Gentleman.  

Final undefeated AFG team is team “786”. Already two time AFG flag football champions this team might not be the most physically gifted team in the league, however they have great chemistry and try to play intelligent football. Although a great team you can not put these guys above “The State” nor above “The Movement” in power ranking because of difficulty of schedule thus far. The good thing about team 786 is their QB is one darn good lookin young man wouldn’t you say? Lol Please check out week one Power Rankings.
